STRATEGIES AND METHODS OF TAHFIDZ AL-QUR’AN IN ISLAMIC BOARDING SCHOOLS

Abstract

This study investigates the strategies and methods of Qur’an memorization (tahfidz) implemented at Pondok Pesantren Al-Misbah, located in Taretah Ponjanan Barat, Batumarmar, Pamekasan. The research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with teachers and administrators of the Islamic boarding school, as well as direct observations of the Qur’an memorization learning process. The findings indicate that the strategies and methods used in this pesantren combine traditional approaches with modern elements, including direct instruction, individual mentoring, and the use of technology. This approach also emphasizes character development and spiritual values in the Qur’an memorization process. The results of this study may provide valuable insights for Islamic educational institutions in designing more effective and comprehensive Qur’an memorization teaching strategies
